FAQ

When does the BILDSTÖRUNG take place?

The Streettheatre festival BILDSTÖRUNG usually takes place bianually during Whitsun.

The next festival will be at the Whitsun weekend 2024 from 17th to 19th May 2024.

Where do I find the program?

You can find the program here: Program 2024

Where can I buy tickets?

In general, our goal is to make all events of the Streettheatre festival BILDSTÖRUNG open-air, free of charge and accessible to everyone.

For visitor control (e.g. due to limited visitor seating) tickets are required for some performances.

Tickets: kulturteam.reservix.de

What about the accessibility?

We try our best to make all events of the BILDSTÖRUNG accessible barrier-free. Unfortunately, this is not possible for every production due to security reasons. This year the productions “Vom Ende her. Ein Requiem für das fossile Zeitalter” by Jascha Sommer & Jakob Engel and “close.r” by TheatreFragile are not barrier-free.

Barrier-free, public toilets can be found under the stairs of the town hall at the market place.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about this, please contact us via the contact form.

We are thankful for any input that improves our visitors and our own festival experience.

Where can I stay overnight?

If you need help with overnight stays or you want to experience other cultural activities, you can contact the Detmold tourist information centre: +49 5231 977-328, tourist.info@detmold.de

More information about the possibilities for overnight stays in Detmold can be found here.

Where can I find food/drinks?

There will be a festival lounge once again this year where visitors can relax and unwind. You can also enjoy a refreshing drink or delicious street food under the roof of the festival tent. Due to a reconstruction of the Schlosspark the lounge will not be located there as usual, but in the new ambience in the Park am Museum.

Where are the toilets on site?

Under the stairs of Detmolds town hall entrance, at the market place are sanitary facilities that are fully accessible barrier-free.

Some of the restaurateurs are also part of “Nette Toilette”, a community of facilites that grant free access to their restrooms. Find them here.

We can understand that you would like to capture these great moments. That is why we have the events of the BILDSTÖRUNG documented and publish information about them on our homepage, etc. The local press also covers many of the events.
